Ketchikan elementary schools resumed classes this week after losing two staff members over winter break. A kindergarten teacher at Point Higgins Elementary School and a paraeducator at Houghtaling Elementary passed away in separate occurrences in the last few weeks.

We anticipate some professionals from the state to also participate, and I would anticipate that they will have some specific suggestions on what they think proper mitigations and procedures are for schools,” School Board President Stephen Bradford said.
