Forest Service officials on the Ketchikan-Misty Fiord Ranger District announce that cable logging operations will continue on Brown Mountain Road through Friday, Sept. 28.

The City Council meets tonight in regular session, and again will consider the priorities list. The agenda, which was completed before Monday’s Borough Assembly vote, does not include any recommendations for the Council. Amylon simply asks for direction.

Three out of the four candidates for City of Ketchikan elected office participated in a Chamber of Commerce forum Wednesday.

The community priorities list bounced back into the City of Ketchikan’s court following Monday’s Borough Assembly meeting. The Assembly voted unanimously to send the list back to the city without any of the changes that the Council had hoped to inspire by rejecting the list on Sept. 5.

A 34-year-old Ketchikan woman was arrested Monday for allegedly using duct tape to bind her 7-year-old son’s mouth and hands for most of the day Sunday.
