In the final days of her campaign, U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola came to Ketchikan to speak with voters.
A meet-and-greet style event Tuesday brought several dozen people out to the Alaska Fish House restaurant. Peltola thanked her supporters, joking that the long campaign and the attack ads that came with it, are almost over.
“The light is at the end of the tunnel,” she said. “It has been a wonderful campaign. It’s great to be back in Ketchikan. We take any and all excuses to come to Ketchikan.”
Peltola spent the rest of the event making her way through the crowd to answer one-on-one questions, listen to feedback and pose for a few photos.
She reminded everyone to get out and vote, and to talk to the people in their lives to make sure they’re voting too.
Early voting is open across the state, and polls will be open on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
