A car accident shut down most of Stedman Street, the main thoroughfare in downtown Ketchikan, for a little over an hour on Tuesday.

Ketchikan police said that the driver dropped a cup on the floor of his car and leaned down to grab it. When he did, he crossed into oncoming traffic. The driver then tried to correct, swerved, and lost control. The car rolled over, righted itself, and struck multiple parked vehicles along the street. No injuries were reported. Ketchikan police said the driver showed no signs of impairment. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
