Two women are dead and four children are seriously injured following a car crash early Friday on Prince of Wales Island. That’s according to Alaska State Troopers.
Authorities identified the victims as 35-year-old Jennifer Dietrick of Naukati and 33-year-old Kerri Hansen of Thorne Bay. Dietrick reportedly had one child in the car; Hansen had three. Authorities say none of the children were in proper restraints and were transported from the scene with injuries.
Troopers say they’re still investigating the crash, but they suspect Dietrick crossed the center line at mile 7.5 on Thorne Bay Road, striking Hansen’s vehicle head-on.
No further details were provided and troopers didn’t return calls seeking comment.
