A Ketchikan High School teacher won a $10,000 award from a private nonprofit that recognizes one outstanding educator in all 50 states. English teacher Sarah Campbell was Alaska’s recipient of the Sanford Teacher Award from the National University System. She spoke with KRBD’s Eric Stone, and started by talking about a passion project that’s grown into a school-wide program at the school known to locals as Kayhi.
Campbell she doesn’t have a firm plan for the money yet, but she’s thinking about putting the bulk of it back into Kings For Peace Week.
