PeaceHealth Thursday announced Joe Mark as its pick for interim chief administrator of Ketchikan Medical Center, the local hospital.
Mark, a former consultant and hospital executive, will take over for outgoing Ketchikan Medical Center head Ed Freysinger on Dec. 9, according to PeaceHealth. The Vancouver, Washington-based Catholic healthcare non-profit says Freysinger will stick around until the end of the year to help with the transition.
Freysinger announced Tuesday that he would step down to spend more time with his family in the lower 48. He’s worked as the head of the medical center since 2017.
