Two additional candidates filed Friday for borough offices.
Michelle O’Brien added her name to the list of candidates running for Ketchikan Gateway Borough Mayor, and Kathleen Yarr is running for a one-year term on the Ketchikan School Board.
In the mayoral race, O’Brien will be running against Sidney Hartley and Assembly Member Rodney Dial.
Yarr joins three other candidates for the one-year seat on the school board. They are incumbent Leslie Becker, Hilary Kvasnikoff, and Paul Robbins, Jr.
There are two, three-year terms open on the school board. Running for those seats are incumbent Bridget Mattson and Jordan Tabb.
There are two, three year seats open on Borough Assembly. Vying for those seats are Austin Otos and Borough Mayor David Landis. Landis is unable to run for mayor again because of term limits.
On the city side, there are two, three-year terms open on the City Council. Incumbents Lew Williams III and Judy Zenge have filed to retain their seats.
Time to file is running out. Prospective candidates have until noon on Monday, August 26th.
Municipal elections are Tuesday, October 1st.
