A 58-year-old fisherman was medevaced Monday after injuring his arm while crewing on the fishing vessel Lake Bay.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, Sector Juneau received a call from the vessel master that the man had a large laceration on his arm and needed help. The boat was in Revillagigedo Channel, about 18 miles southeast of Ketchikan.
The man was brought to Ketchikan by a Station Ketchikan small boat crew, and local EMS transported him to PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center. He was reported stable upon transfer.
Weather on scene was dense fog with a visibility of 300 yards, southeast winds at 10 knots and seas of two feet.
