The Ketchikan School Board has a light agenda for its regular meeting on Wednesday. It includes new contracts for various positions; and motions to hold a single regular meeting in July, November and December.
The employee contracts include newly hired Houghtaling Elementary School Principal Michael Cron; and seven teaching positions.
Superintendent Beth Lougee writes in her report to the board that the district is still looking for an assistant principal at Houghtaling, and will need to fill the jobs of maintenance director, administrative assistant to the superintendent, and a French teaching position.
The board has historically held just one meeting in the months of July, November and December. Those months often are less busy because of holidays. The motions up for a vote would allow everyone to plan for that ahead of time.
Wednesday’s School Board meeting starts at 6 p.m. in Borough Assembly chambers at the White Cliff building. Public comment will be heard at the start and end of the meeting.
