A 49-year-old Ketchikan man faces felony assault charges following an alleged domestic violence incident on Thursday.
According to a statement in court records submitted by Ketchikan Police Officer Ray Satterfield, the victim told police that she and Robert S. Lanier had been arguing. At one point, she told police, Lanier head-butted her, then forced her onto her back, straddled her and choked her. The victim also told police than Lanier struck her in the face with a closed fist.
According to the police statement, the victim had injuries that correlate to the described events.Lanier was arrested and charged with second-degree domestic assault.
