A 30-year-old Ketchikan woman faces felony drug charges after she was arrested Thursday by Alaska State Troopers drug enforcement unit.
According to the troopers online dispatch report, Stephanie Orr was identified as a suspect following the arrest of another woman who allegedly carried about 26 grams of heroin to Ketchikan from Seattle.
In the complaint filed in court, Alaska State Troopers Investigator Larry Du’ran writes that suspect Labreea Shaelyn Brown told him Orr had sent money to purchase the heroin and to fly to Ketchikan. Orr also allegedly sent money to compensate Brown, and arranged for someone to meet Brown at the airport.
In the complaint against Orr, Du’ran writes that while she never physically possessed the seized heroin, Orr’s alleged actions constitute conspiracy to commit a crime and “constructive” possession.
Orr was charged with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and second-degree conspiracy to commit misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Orr had her first court appearance Friday morning in Ketchikan District Court. Bail was set at $10,000. Her next hearing is 1 p.m. Dec. 12th.
