A 20-year-old Washington State woman faces a felony drug charge after she was arrested Monday at Ketchikan International Airport. Alaska State Troopers say she was carrying about $26,000 worth of heroin.
According to Alaska State Troopers, Labreea Shaelyn Brown traveled to Ketchikan from Seattle with 26.1 grams of suspected heroin. Troopers say she intended to deliver the drugs to a third party in Ketchikan to be sold in the Ketchikan area.
In the complaint filed in court, Troopers Investigator Larry Dur’an writes that he field-tested the suspected heroin, with a positive result.
Troopers estimate the street value of the drugs based on a price of $100 per 0.1 grams.
Brown was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
She was taken to Ketchikan Correctional Center and had her first court appearance set for early Tuesday afternoon.
