Southeast Conference’s annual fall meeting starts Wednesday in Ketchikan. A highlight of the meeting will be a public forum featuring all three candidates for Alaska governor.
The forum is noon on Wednesday at the Ted Ferry Civic Center. While it’s free and open to the public, there will be limited space for walk-in audience members, and lunch will be available only to those who’ve registered in advance.
Also on the agenda for the two-day meeting are presentations about economic development, renewable energy, federal legislation, the Southeast By the Numbers annual report, timber, maritime, education, transportation, mining, tourism, health care, seafood, and telecommunications.
To attend any of the conference except the governor’s forum, participants must register and pay a fee. KRBD and CoastAlaska will provide news coverage of much of the conference.
