Ketchikan has a new district attorney.
The Department of Law announced on Friday that Assistant DA Tim McGillicuddy has been promoted to District Attorney. He takes over from Ben Hofmeister, who left for a position in Juneau.
McGillicuddy graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law in 2007. He has practiced in Chicago and the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. He came to the Ketchikan District Attorney’s office in 2016.
Hofmeister has moved into the Department of Law’s civil division to handle tort litigation out of the Juneau office.
McGillicuddy started his new job on Aug. 6th.
