A 34-year-old Ketchikan woman faces felony drug charges after police allegedly found heroin in her vehicle and her residence at the Mary Frances building downtown on Tuesday.
Lt. Andy Berntson of the Ketchikan Police Department said Wednesday that police observed what looked like a drug deal Tuesday on Fourth Avenue.
“We started investigating those two subjects. Developed one as the main suspect, as the dealer,” he said. “And then subsequent search warrants were executed on multiple subjects as well as the vehicle she was traveling in and finally her residence.”
Rachel Kristine Robecker was charged with second- and third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Berntson says about 1.5 to 2 grams of heroin was seized. He says the street value is $100 per tenth of a gram, so 2 full grams would be worth $2,000.
Robecker was booked into the Ketchikan Correctional Center Tuesday evening. She had her first court hearing Wednesday afternoon.
