A 57-year-old Ketchikan man suffered moderate injuries following a single-vehicle accident Wednesday evening near Mile 14 North Tongass Highway.

According to the online Alaska State Troopers dispatch report, Mark Woodke was northbound on the highway at about 7 p.m. when he left the pavement, hit loose dirt and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the centerline, entered a ditch and hit a dirt embankment.

Troopers report that Woodke sustained moderate injuries and was transported by North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department to PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center for evaluation. Troopers say Woodke was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, and that his driver’s license had been revoked.

The accident remains under investigation.
