A free summer program will teach area residents about the plants and beach life around Ketchikan.
The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Campus program includes a presentation and three nature walks, led by instructor Barbara Morgan.
The free, public presentation is scheduled for 5 p.m. June 12th at the UAS Ketchikan Campus Library.
The first nature walk will be a beach walk at 9 a.m. June 16th. A forest walk is set for 10 a.m. July 21st, and a forest and muskeg walk will wrap up the program at 10 a.m. Aug. 11th.
Like the presentation, the walks are free, but there is a limit of 15 people per walk. Interested participants must register ahead of time. Call 228-4511 to register and for further information.
