A Stellar sea lion was found dead near Ketchikan on April 13th, and federal investigators are looking into whether it was a criminal act.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Law Enforcement, initial findings indicate the sea lion was shot within the last two weeks.
NOAA asks anyone with information about the shooting to call 907-247-5804.
If the animal was taken illegally, a reward may be issued for information leading to a conviction.
