An 18-year-old Metlakatla man faces charges of possessing child pornography following a months-long investigation by Alaska State Troopers.
According to the online Troopers dispatch report, the investigation started last September when a 15-year-old girl on Prince of Wales reported receiving explicit images by messenger.
Troopers questioned Walter Forsberg, and seized his phone for evidence. The phone was examined by the Alaska Bureau of Investigations, and Troopers say they found multiple images of child pornography.
Forsberg was indicted Thursday by a Grand Jury on five counts of possessing child pornography. He was arrested that same day, according to Troopers.
Online court records show that Forsberg was arraigned in Ketchikan Superior Court on Friday. Bail was set at $5,000.
His next court hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday.
