A 38-year-old Ketchikan man and his son were injured during a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on North Tongass Highway.
According to Alaska State Troopers’ online dispatch, troopers responded to a report of the accident at about 10 a.m. It took place near Mile 14 North Tongass Highway.
Troopers report that the SUV was headed northbound when it went off the road, down an embankment and ended up against a group of trees. The vehicle was partially submerged.
The driver was unresponsive and trapped in the vehicle. His son was also in the vehicle. North Tongass Fire and EMS, Ketchikan Fire Department, Forest Service Law Enforcement and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded. The man and his son were removed from the vehicle and taken to PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the accident. Anyone with information can call 225-5118.
