Nobody was injured when a Dodge pickup truck slid into an embankment Saturday morning at about mile 17 North Tongass Highway.
According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, the accident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. A 1999 Dodge pickup driven by an 18-year-old Ketchikan man hit a patch of black ice on a curve, slid off the road and down the embankment, and came to rest on its side.
Troopers report that the driver and sole occupant was wearing his seatbelt at the time, and was not injured. The truck was totaled, and towed from the scene.
