Gov. Bill Walker’s office announced this week that two Ketchikan residents have been appointed to statewide positions.
City of Ketchikan Fire Chief Abner Hoage was reappointed to the EMS Administrator seat on the Alaska Council on Emergency Medical Services. His term lasts through November of 2020.
The council advises the Commissioner of Health and Social Services and the governor on planning and implementation of emergency medical services systems.
Alaska Department of Fish and Game Fishery Biologist Andy Piston was appointed to the Northern Panel of the Pacific Salmon Commission. His term lasts through September of 2020.
The commission will help negotiate and implement treaty provisions and provide recommendations for managing Alaska fisheries.
