Nominations are open through Friday, July 15th, for the sixth Summer of Heroes state scholarship program, a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Alaska and Alaska Communications.
The program recognizes five young Alaskans between the ages of 6 and 18 who have made significant contributions to their communities. The winners receive $1,500 scholarships through the University of Alaska College Savings Plan, and a trip to a special ceremony during the Alaska State Fair.
Past winners have been recognized for raising money for their schools, advocating for other youth and for volunteer work.
Nomination forms are available online.
