After two weekends of fishing, 14-year-old Duseigneur Paolo remains on top in the Ketchikan CHARR King Salmon Derby. Paolo caught his 40.3 pound king on Memorial Day. He is the current leader on both the Grand Prize and Youth Leader Boards.
Looking at the leaders on the Grand Prize Ladder:
- Steve Parker is in second place with a 40.2 pound king.
- In third place is Michael Brooks with a 36.9 pound king.
Following Paolo on the Youth Prize Ladder are:
- Vanessa Wood who remains in second place with a 27.3 pound Chinook.
- and Rita Burke in third with a 26.2 pound king.

The Ketchikan king salmon derby continues next Saturday and Sunday. Anglers can punch in at the dock beginning at 6:45 am. Weigh-in stations are at Bar Harbor, Mountain Point, Knudson Cove and Clover Pass Resort. Fish can be checked in between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm each derby day.
