Actor Leonard Nimoy died Friday morning in Los Angeles after years of battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Nimoy, best known for his Star Trek character, Mr. Spock, visited Alaska in June of 2013 on the cruise ship Silver Shadow. While he was in Ketchikan, KRBD caught up with him in time to ask for his thoughts on the 49th state.
“We’ve had a fabulous time. Beautiful country, beautiful city, great people,” he said.
Nimoy was 83 years old.
