Ketchikan will see a sudden influx of harbormasters next week, because the city is hosting the Alaska Association of Harbormasters and Port Administrators annual conference, set for Monday through Friday, Oct. 13-17.
According to City Port and Harbors Director Steve Corporon, the conference will include about 90 participants from coastal communities throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. It will feature speakers from a variety of federal, state and local agencies, as well as the private sector.
The event will take place at the Ted Ferry Civic Center.
According to Corporon, Ketchikan previously hosted the organization’s conference in 2006.
