The U.S. Forest Service has announced some Prince of Wales Island road closures in July.
Forest Service Road 20 on POW will be closed at mile marker 117 for about five days starting July 10th. And Road 27 north of Whale Pass will be closed at mile marker 4.3 July 21st through the 26th.
The closures will allow crews to install new bridges, which are part of the Prince of Wales fish passage project. The new bridges are meant to improve access for fish to travel upstream to spawning and rearing areas.
