Southeast Regional Health Consortium has given about $130,000 in grants to various health programs throughout Southeast, including some on Prince of Wales Island.
In a news release, SEARCH writes that the eight Transformation Grant awards were chosen from 32 applications. The grants target programs that promote tobacco-free living, increased activity and healthy eating.
Among the awardees are a program on Prince of Wales that will help elders access local and traditional foods, a school nutrition initiative for Southeast Island School District and a culture-camp wellness program in Hydaburg.
