Forest Service to look at forest planning rule

KETCHIKAN, ALASKA (2009-12-23) The U.S. Forest Service announced this month that it will revamp the basic rule governing the development of forest plans, which determine how much land is set aside for conservation, recreation and resource development within a national forest. The new rule will replace one created by the Bush administration that was struck down by a U.S. District Court judge last June.
