There were no reported injuries following a weekend car crash on North Tongass Highway.
According to the Alaska State Troopers online dispatch, a report came in at about 6 a.m. Saturday that a light pole near the intersection of the highway and D-1 Loop had been damaged.
Troopers contacted a 24-year-old California man, and he told troopers that he was northbound on North Tongass when he fell asleep, drove off the road and hit the pole.
The man did not call in the incident, and was cited for failure to immediately report a vehicle accident.
