Ketchikan is temporary home to superyacht “A” this week. KRBD got several calls Monday morning reporting a huge and unusual-looking boat in Ward Cove. The $300 million yacht belongs to 42-year-old Russian banker and billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. The 390-foot yacht was built in 2008, and the twin diesel-engine powered boat can reach speeds up to 23 knots. It can accommodate 14 guests and a crew of 42. A, which was named for the first initials of both the owner and his wife, has three swimming pools and a helicopter pad.
